Hello, I'm Olivia
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Springfield, United States.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually blossomed into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United States wasn't in the long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much bigger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Routine tasks felt more challenging than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines settled in. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began shaping something that felt steady.
Why I Built Brook Terra Echo
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an authentic, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to fill that void — actionable guidance grounded in real life in United States.
What This Site Represents (And What It Does Not)
This site is:
- Practical knowledge gained from living in United States
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site is not:
- A resource from a tourism authority
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A generic travel blog
Moving Forward
Our stay in United States continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Springfield or anywhere in United States, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Best regards,
Olivia
